No. A beginner usually needs forgiving clubs. VIP Nicklaus's are blades which means they are very tough to hit.

I would go to your local Edwin Watts or Sports Authority and buy the new Adam's irons. They are extremely forgiving and they go a long way. They are fairly expensive though. Taylormade r7 irons are extremely forgiving and they are 200-300 dollars. That is not a bad price for Taylormade irons.
